I've always enjoyed a wide variety of sports and physical activities.
However, in the early 1980s, travelling home from Turkey, I was involved in an horrific accident from which I was lucky to escape with my life. I was seriously injured but, with youth on my side, I recovered and was able to resume an active life.
I went on to become a barrister and to marry and start a family. In my free time, however, I began to explore a variety of body and movement methods and philosophies. I didn't realise it at the time, but now see that my interest was motivated by the need to address the trauma held in my body.
As part of this process, I started attending Pilates classes in 1997. My teacher was (and still is) the wonderful Conchita Del Campo, a ballet dancer who later became one of the first generation of Pilates teachers in the UK.
I was so impressed by Pilates that I decided I would one day train as a teacher and eventually did so with Body Control Pilates (Europe’s foremost professional Pilates training association), initially as a matwork teacher and then as a reformer teacher.

But I've also continued to explore other somatic disciplines of which the most rewarding for me has been the Feldenkrais Method. The Feldenkrais Method uses gentle, mindful movement to bring a host of mental and physical benefits. I am now also a fully qualified Feldenkrais practitioner, teaching both 'awareness through movement' (ATM) classes and giving 'functional integration' (FI) sessions.

I have retired as a barrister to focus on my somatic practice.

My ultimate goal is to help clients to find the peace and ease that comes from closer integration with their bodies.
